Building on the successful premiere of Jinsha: The Journey at the Studio Theatre in 2024, Crack Hammer Studio presents Songs of Wafting: A Collection of Songs from Chinese Musicals. This one-night-only concert brings together iconic songs from five renowned Chinese musicals: Jinsha, The Piano in a Factory, Butterflies, Hu Men, and An Orphan on the Streets. These musicals explore themes of love, resilience, history, and the human spirit through stunning melodies and evocative storytelling. Featuring a cast of talented international student singers alongside professional musical performers and invited Indigenous artists, this concert highlights the depth and richness of Chinese musical theater. Most songs will be performed in Mandarin, with select pieces in English, bridging cultures and inviting all audiences to experience these powerful stories.
